The process of becoming a fully integrated person (happy, healthy, and successful) encompasses being fully aware and clear about your WHO, WHAT, and HOW. These three areas, when fully combined, help you to inhabit a space where you are more open to financial stability, physical health, emotional connection, and spiritual openness. And a great first step in this journey to clarity and awareness is discovering your True Values.
What are values, anyway? Well, your values are the behaviors and activities to which you are naturally drawn, and to which you assign great importance in your life.
Your values are who you really are. These could be things like creating, contributing, adventure, beauty, teaching, or spirituality. Values are desirable qualities, standards or principles that serve as your guiding force, especially when making decisions and pursuing options that best meet your needs and lead to increased happiness.
Values influence both your actions and reactions.
This True Values Self Evaluation is designed to help you narrow down and discover what YOUR true values are, and once discovered, how they influence your past, present, and future choices. This evaluation can also be the start of creating space to express those values, and reorient your life to truly embody them.
Grab some paper and a pen and take some time now to read over the following questions and write down the choices that resonate with you. By clarifying and applying your values, you can achieve enhanced self-awareness and ultimately be guided towards a more satisfying and integrated life.

Now that you’ve explored some of the values listed above (there will always be more to these lists than can be included here) go back to the words you wrote down and circle 10 that you truly connect with and that “stick in your brain.” Once you’ve identified those 10, make a list and prioritize them starting with the one that’s most important to you. Define what each one means to you and give an example of when that specific value was or was not met in your past career or personal interactions.
You now have a list of those ideas and ideals that matter most to you that you can use as a guide when making decisions and setting goals. Can this list ever change? Absolutely! As you travel down your path outside influences and inner shifts will change the order of your priorities and even switch some of them on and off your top 10 list. And that’s ok. Change is inevitable. It’s how prepared you are to handle those changes that makes the difference.
And with that, you have now taken your first step toward being a more fully integrated person. You could stop now, take this list, and use it to start making more informed choices in your life. You could also choose to dive deeper into the process of discovery and integration by setting up a 30-minute Virtual Coffee with me and discuss next steps.
